IMPRESSION OF REALITY IN RELATIONSHIP OF CHOREOGRAPHY AND FILM

Looking at the choreography through the camera lens gives it new values, and therefore new ways of experiencing it. For the key to this article, I chose the analysis of films in which the choice of means aroused my bodily, and thus real sensations. I am looking for the source, and thus I try to define the "impression of reality", which, initiated in the embodied action of the performer, has a chance, in my opinion, to appear on the screen in the strongly synergistic work of choreographers and filmmakers. I look at selected choreographic and film strategies in such works as: Monoloog van Fumiyo Ikeda op het einde van Ottone, Ottone (video: Walter Verdin, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, Jean-Luc Ducourt, chor. Anna Teresa de Keersmeaker), Climax (dir. Gaspar Noe, chor. Nina McNeely) and The Cost of Living (dir. Lloyd Newson).

The article is supplemented with interviews with artists - written answers by Leszek Bzdyl, Jozef Fruck, Dominika Knapik, Daniela Komędera-Miśkiewicz, Ramona Nagabczyńska and Iwona Olszowska to a few questions about the experience of their own body through the screen.
